What’s in store for chippies in 2025: Carpentry Australia

2024 was a year of tremendous progress for Carpentry Australia, and as we look ahead to 2025, we’re filled with excitement about the future.

With the momentum we’ve built, we’re eager to expand our network and invite organisations, trade schools, businesses, and government partners to join us in driving positive change within the industry.  We’re not just talking about progress, we’re creating it, and we want you to be part of this transformative journey.

2025 is shaping up to be a year of growth and collaboration as we continue to expand our national presence.  Our commitment to building strong partnerships with organisations, businesses, and trade schools that share our vision is unwavering. Together, we can help grow businesses, provide career opportunities, and support the next generation of skilled workers.

Many hands

Carpentry Australia will be leading and participating in a range of expos, events, and industry activities across Australia, and we invite you to join us.

These events are about more than just showcasing products and services; they’re opportunities to create meaningful connections, spark innovation, and build lasting relationships within the carpentry industry.

Whether you’re looking to connect with peers or share your expertise through exhibitor opportunities, now is the time to get involved.

We’re particularly excited about the increased number of Helping Hand Days in 2025. These community driven initiatives aim to support local groups, clubs, and associations across the country.

The success of these events highlights the generosity and skill of our members and strengthens our connection with the communities we serve.

If your organisation values giving back, we would love for you to be part of these impactful events.

Building potential

Celebrating the success of our members remains a priority for us, and 2024 was a fantastic year in that regard.

We’ve seen many of our members grow their businesses, win major contracts, and significantly increase their profitability.

As we move into 2025, we are committed to providing even more opportunities for members and apprentices to grow, succeed, and realise their potential. These opportunities will also be extended to the wider industry, helping businesses of all sizes thrive.

A key initiative in 2025 will be the launch of our Member Portal, a new platform that will offer exclusive benefits, including discounted Carpentry Australia workwear.

As the portal evolves, it will become a hub for networking, resources, and opportunities that help our members grow their businesses and careers. Trade schools, businesses, and organisations are invited to learn more about how they can get involved with this dynamic platform.

Another highlight of 2024 was the incredible progress of the CarpentHER Women in Construction program, thanks to the dedication of key team members like Hannah, Skye, and Courtney. This initiative has created pathways for women in carpentry, offering career growth, leadership development, and mentorship.

We’ve been truly inspired by the conversations we’ve had with carpenters and builders across NSW, and it’s clear that our industry is becoming increasingly forward-thinking and inclusive, promoting a diverse future.

If your organisation is focused on diversity and inclusion, we’d love to collaborate with you in supporting this groundbreaking program.

Big-time decisions

Throughout 2025, Carpentry Australia will feature carefully curated content across our channels to keep members and the wider industry informed on key topics like government policies and industry innovations.

These themes will ensure that our members are well-prepared to tackle emerging challenges.  We also invite businesses, organisations, and government bodies to partner with us to share these insights and foster important industry discussions that will help shape the future of our trade.

In an exciting development, our CEO, Jake McArthur, has joined the Victorian Skills Authority’s Building, Construction, Mining and Property Industry Advisory Group.

This influential role will allow Jake to help shape policies addressing skills gaps, employment opportunities, and career pathways. As Carpentry Australia continues to strengthen its commitment to employment and skills development, we encourage government partners to engage with us to help build a sustainable workforce for the future.
