For tradies who dabble in lawncare, picking the right lawnmower mightn’t seem that important.
But just like a reliable nail gun, having an effective mower — like Bosch’s PRO GRA18V2-46SP — can be a big difference maker.

Bosch superfan Kevin ‘Kev’ Rad from New Age Facades took this cordless lawnmower for a test drive on a lawn at a site in Mooroolbark in Melbourne’s far east.
No stranger to Bosch’s 18V battery ranges, he couldn’t wait to see how they performed when combined with a lawnmower.
“I’m not a huge fan of petrol mowers, I prefer battery-powered ones,” Kev said.
“[But] I’ve tried some battery mowers before and haven’t had any luck.”
Test #1: Power propelled
The PRO GRA18V2-46SP uses any two batteries from Bosch’s Professional 18V System or AMPShare multi-brand alliance.

These batteries deliver big-time power and longevity; a must when it comes mowing uninterrupted by charging breaks.
“I’m impressed by Bosch’s mower — this backyard would usually take a long time to get through, this mower’s been cutting through it with ease,” Kev said.
Sporting a 46cm cutting diameter and six cutting levels between 30-60mm allowed Kev to cut through a hefty width and depth of lawn quickly.
“I had it on the second-lowest setting and cut it short in one go — where normally I have to do a couple of rounds to get it to the right length.”
Kev also loved the mower’s self-propulsion which meant he could move it forward with very little effort.
“The self-propulsion is a game-changer,” he said.
“I could use it with one hand, it moved forward at a steady pace — it’s a great product.”

Test #2: Easy to handle
The self-propulsion doesn’t compromise comfort, with a soft-start function resulting in a smoother experience.
Should Kev need to move the mower between sites, it features a collapsible handle that folds down making for compact storage and easy transport, even vertically to save space.
An ergonomic soft-grip handle and simple two-level height adjustment help users maintain a healthier posture while mowing, improving comfort during
longer jobs.
Built for durability, the mower’s tough metal deck is built to withstand tougher workloads while supporting a longer service life.
A generous 60-litre fabric grass catcher provides ample capacity for collecting clippings, but also the included mulch plug offers the flexibility to return nutrients to the lawn by turning cut grass into fertiliser.

Strong performer
Bosch’s GRA 18V2-46SP gives petrol mower fans serious cause to reconsider, offering a durable and powerful addition to a tradie’s lawncare kit.
Kev loved being able to seamlessly use his Bosch 18V batteries with a mower that delivered immense power comparable to his 18V tool range.
“I’m throwing my old mower out, effective immediately,” he said.
“This thing’s going to get used every time I need to mow lawns.”
