Nathan ‘Nath’ Powell put the GLL 18V-120-33CG to the test for us while he was working on a site in Frankston.

Test #1: Batteries included
As the name suggests, the GLL 18V-120-33CG is the first 18V laser in Bosch’s arsenal.
It uses the same ProCORE18V batteries you’d use for your other Bosch tools and delivers the same amount of power to the laser.
“It’s lasted way longer than my old laser,” Nath added.
“In the time I’ve been testing it – which has been over a week – I think I only charged it twice.
“With my old laser, I was charging that thing once a day. But for this Bosch one, lasting a day is a piece of cake.”

Prefer to use 12V batteries? Easily switch between 18V, 12V, and alkaline C-cell power sources to avoid downtime.
The power of Bosch’s 18V batteries meant that —no matter what conditions Nath was measuring in, the green lasers were as strong and as visible as they’ve ever been.
Test #2: Micro details
The GLL 18V projects three 360 degree laser lines and was the perfect tool for Nath while he was measuring out walls and entryways on his worksite.
One thing he loved was the laser line fine adjustment which allowed Nath to adjust the vertical line without losing the reference point.
“Those micro adjustments are a game changer – when you only need that extra mm, you can twist the dial and you don’t lose where you’re at,” he said.
Like other Bosch lasers, the GLL 18V can be used with Bosch’s Levelling Remote app. This meant Nath could make beam adjustments and gather the readings he needed from his phone on the other side of a room.

All this tech doesn’t make the GLL 18V delicate by any means. The laser is as sturdy as they come handled everything Nath threw at it.
“It’s got an IP65 rating which protects it from water, dust and impact,” he said.
“It’s got a tough rubber outer shell, it’s a laser so you still wanna be careful, but if you drop it – it’ll hold up just fine.”
Speaking of secure, the laser’s in-built L-mount is a cinch to configure based on the area being measured. Once placed, it’s got super strong magnets that keep it in place while tradies go about their work.

Punch it in
For tradies working on a plethora of everyday jobs – such as installing drywall, studs, piping or aligning doors/windows – Bosch’s GLL 18V-120-33CG is as reliable as they come.
Not only does it utilise Bosch’s 18V battery technology, but it’s brought over some of the best assets from previous lasers, making this a fitting new addition to any tradie’s daily toolbox.
