No matter what application you need one for, Bosch has you covered with its latest range of professional finish nail guns.
We tested out four nailers: the 20-degree Angle Brad Nailer, the DA Series Brad Nailer, the C1 Series Brad and the 6000 Series Stapler.
For the test, we brought in Melbourne-based chippy Toby Spicer from Pillar Construction.
Test #1: Comfy control
This range is about as close to being a point-and-shoot nailing range as it comes. Each nailer has stepless depth adjustment – all Toby needed to do was roll the side thumbwheel for quick and accurate depth changes.
Don’t put that thumb away too soon, because tradies can also use it to activate the thumb-actuated power switch, which is unique to this nailer range.
That power switch made it easy for Toby to single handedly activate/deactivate the nailers making them both safe and efficient.
“A lot of companies push out nail guns just to get them out to the market,” Toby said.
“With these nailers from Bosch, everything seems well thought through.
“They’ve actually thought about everything with the user in mind … these are super user friendly and easy to use.”
Test #2: Reliable reload
There are plenty of nailers on the market these days without air hose compressors or cartridges. Toby noted, however, that these nailers from Bosch delivered plenty of power thanks to their Brushless Motors. He also observed each nailer felt compact, ergonomic and easy to carry/manoeuvre despite the power they delivered on each shot.
“A lot of battery nailers – especially non-gas ones – are very heavy,” Toby said.
“These are very lightweight. The bump fire is just unmatched as well.
“I’ve seen other brands do bump fire, they tend to get a lot of jams. But I’ve put about 2000 nails through these bad boys, and haven’t had a single issue yet.”
If any of these nailers do jam, they have in-built toolless jam clearing making it a cinch to remove jammed nails.
Not only is each shot powerful thanks to the Brushless Motor, but Bosch has also used a unique flywheel drive which ensures less fatigue and very low recoil.
When you’ve shot through a magazine, each nailer has a dry-fire lockout system that prevents blank firing which can damage the timber.
Lean and green
Toby was thrilled with each nailer’s performance after extensive use. Bosch has packed everything a tradie needs to get the job done efficiently and cleanly.
“These are some of my favourite finishing nailers I’ve used on the market,” Toby said.
“I’ve used everything from top-of-the-line brands to cheaper ones, and these are definitely up there.
“Bosch understands what the people want.”
