Turning up to clients’ homes and worksites looking sharp in your work outfit while being protected from head to toe is very important for most trades. Blundstone’s black Rotoflex® #8561 Safety boot not only adds to your safety while working but adds a look of professionalism and a feel of absolute stability and comfort.
Many tradies, such as plumbers and sparkies, prefer a consistent, uniform-style look-these 150mm black water-resistant, leather-upper safety boots definitely deliver. With metal-free, unique, seven-eyelet lace-up, friction-resistant lace rings, and laces made from PPE, these boots are jam-packed with technology and features to ensure your feet feel fresh and have remain safe and protected across your day’s work activities.
Blundstone has been working tirelessly to develop awesome new features, like its new Griptek® Sole (optimum grip and comfort), Aircell (airflow footbed), Fortalite® (compression-resistant composite safety toe cap), Softcell® (comfort system) and Infinergy® an E-TPU super elastic energy foam by BASF. It’s safe to say there’s been no lazing around for the R&D team at Blundstone. The boots are biomechanically engineered for all-day comfort and safety for busy tradies on the go. The black #8561 is airport-friendly due to its lightweight Fortalite composite toe, which provides long-lasting protection when and where it counts. Our sparky putting the ROTOFLEX #8561 150mm UNISEX Safety Boots through their paces is Pete Lamb, the Speedy Sparky.
TEST #1 STABILITY, COMFORT AND WEARABILITY
Electricians like Pete will appreciate all of the features, but in particular the Griptek HD biomechanically designed TPU outsole. As well as being designed for optimum grip and stability, it’s abrasion-resistant and heat-resistant to 140°C. It’s highly resistant to hydrolysis and microbial attack, and it’s oil, acid and organic-fat resistant.
Catching up with Pete after he had settled into the #8561’s he shared, “It’s been great coming back to the Blundstones as I’ve owned several pairs over the years. “In recent times I’ve tried several other types of boots, but after pulling these new Rotoflex’s on and wearing these boots over the last week or so, I have to say the stability, comfort and wearability are all excellent. Worksites are often challenging environments with rain, mud, materials on the ground and sometimes excavations being undertaken. I felt completely sure-footed and steady in these boots, and at the end of the day my feet still felt relaxed and comfortable.”
TEST #2 SAFETY & PROTECTION
Achieving comfort while offering premium protection can be a hard balancing act, but Blundstone seems to have nailed that combo in these #8561s. With the Fortalite composite toe offering up to 200 joules of impact protection, as well as the support and padding that keeps ankles from rolling and feeling strong and supported on uneven ground. Pete told us, “There are some excellent things happening in the boot when it comes to the cushioning and impact resistance of the inner sole. It’s soft under my foot, but it also feels cradled and well balanced.”
It’s the combination of E-TPU material called ‘Infinergy’, a super-elastic energy foam, along with another technology called ‘Softcell’ which is the overarching comfort system Pete was experiencing, and that delivered the impressive comfort, balance, stability and manoeuvrability.
THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY
For tradies looking to impress their feet as much as their customers when they arrive on site looking ultra-sharp, and for that extra level of professionalism, comfort and safety, you can’t go past the ROTOFLEX #8561 UNISEX 150mm Black Safety Boots.
