This article delves into how these innovative systems combine exceptional performance with cost-effectiveness.
In Australia, where the rising cost of living and soaring utility bills are putting significant stress on families, hot water systems stand out as one of the biggest energy consumers.
For this reason, investing in a high-quality heat pump is essential, as a well-designed system helps minimise energy consumption and reduces the need for frequent maintenance, making it a smart choice for long-term savings and efficiency.
The Rinnai Enviroflo range rises to the challenge, offering versatile options that cater to diverse installation needs across the country. With a wide selection of models and variants, the heat pump range is designed to meet various household sizes, functionality, and water usage requirements.
Significantly, the new AR and GR series heat pump water heaters stand out for their cutting-edge technology, exceptional performance, outstanding energy efficiency, and low operating noise levels – solidifying their position as market leaders.
Cost effective
Patrick Corcoran, Rinnai’s Group Manager for product strategy, planning and distribution, emphasises the energy-saving benefits of the Enviroflo electric hot water system in contrast to traditional models.
“Heat pump hot water systems use an efficient refrigeration cycle to extract heat from the surrounding air. They then use a specifically engineered heat exchanger to heat water in the insulated storage cylinder,” Patrick said.
“The Australian designed and manufactured Rinnai Enviroflo AR range typically uses around 60 to 75 per cent less electricity than a conventional electric hot water system. This is because the electricity is used to operate the heat pump and doesn’t heat the water directly with an element.”
By utilising advanced refrigeration technology to effectively capture and transfer thermal energy from the surrounding air into stored water, the Enviroflo system’s efficiency, as measured by the coefficient of performance (COP), increases as the ambient air temperature rises.
The Enviroflo system boasts components to contribute to this efficiency, including a high-performance compressor, double-wall heat exchanger, integrated two-speed fan and evaporator, intelligent controls, and the use of environmentally friendly R290 refrigerant.
“R290 Refrigerant is a sustainable and non-toxic refrigerant,” Patrick added.
“It has a zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of just 0.02, which is 50 times less than CO2. As such, it easily outperforms other heat pumps that typically use refrigerants with higher GWP values.
“The AR series features a larger compressor, enabling faster water heating times. Our cloud-based WiFi app allows you to control your hot water system remotely. “Additionally, the AR series offers improved COP and Seasonal Thermal Efficiency, indicating superior performance compared to previous models.”
Suits all needs
Building on these advanced features, Enviroflo heat pumps are available in a wide range of sizes, from 215L to 340L, offering a blend of innovative technology and sustainable practices that ensure optimal performance while minimising environmental impact.
The range includes the Enviroflo AR series, which can be customised with magnesium or hard water anodes to suit different applications and site conditions. With storage capacities of 300L and 340L, this series represents Australia’s largest selection of integrated residential heat pumps.
Rinnai has designed the Enviroflo systems to be not only highly efficient but also cost-effective. Enviroflo’s innovative design makes them eligible for government incentives under programs like the Federal Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme, which offers small-scale technology certificates (STCs).
Additionally, state-specific benefits, such as Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs) and New South Wales Energy Savings Certificates (ESCs), combined with Enviroflo’s efficiency make them a cost-effective choice.
The Rinnai Enviroflo range seamlessly blends innovative technology, environmental responsibility, and cost-effective advantages. With a generous warranty backing their Enviroflo range and over 50 years of delivering reliable home solutions, Rinnai ensures users can enjoy peace of mind and exceptional comfort. As a leader in sustainable living, Rinnai continues to set the standard for energy-efficient home solutions.
