Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (MMAL) has confirmed the arrival of the Triton Raider for the 2026 model year, introducing a more off-road-focused take on its popular ute.
Developed in partnership with Premcar, the Raider builds on the Triton GSR Dual Cab, adding a tougher look and upgraded capability aimed at drivers who want more from their vehicle both on and off the road.
The new model is due in dealerships from May 2026.
Built locally, with a clear purpose
According to Bruce Hampel, the Raider represents a step forward for the brand in Australia, combining local engineering with factory-backed support.
“Triton Raider is intended to break new ground for the Mitsubishi Motors brand in Australia,” he said.
“Utilising the engineering and second-stage manufacturing capability of Premcar, we have developed Triton Raider to perform exceptionally across the wide diversity of conditions Australia offers.
“This close collaboration has resulted in a product that has the complete backing of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation. Triton Raider will be offered to all Mitsubishi dealers, with the full 10/10/10 warranty and aftersales program supporting owners – just like our regular production vehicles.”
Final assembly and second-stage manufacturing will take place in Epping, Victoria, reinforcing the local focus behind the project.
Tuned for real-world driving
A big part of the Raider’s development has centred on improving ride and handling across varied terrain. Working under Andrew Lynch, the engineering team developed a revised suspension setup designed to balance comfort and control.
This includes new front and rear dampers — with an internal rebound spring up front — along with updated springs and bump stops to improve wheel control. The end result is a ute that feels more composed across everything from highways to rough tracks.

Ride height has been increased, track width widened, and the package is rounded out with all-terrain tyres and upgraded alloy wheels to better handle off-road conditions.
The Triton Raider also retains the YAMAHA Performance Damper system, helping improve overall refinement and stability.
Designed to stand out
Visually, the Raider leans into a more rugged, purposeful look. Unique wheels, bold decals and contrasting exterior finishes give it a stronger presence, while additional protection elements — including underbody upgrades and side bars — add a functional edge.
Inside, it carries over the high-spec GSR interior, with subtle Raider-specific touches like branded headrests and contrast stitching to set it apart.
