National Skills Week from 27 August

National Skills Week is all about celebrating the passion and dedication towards developing the skills that make up the foundation of this country, and it is on 27 August – 2 September 2012.

There are hundreds of events natioanally, celebrating Aussie tradesmen and other skilled workers.

Senator The Hon. Chris Evans – Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Science & Research – launched the week and spoke about the
importance of getting behind such an initiative:

“We want to make sure Australians from all walks of life are able to maximise their potential to participate in the workforce and share directly in our continuing prosperity”, said Sen. Evans.

With over 300 events taking place across the country as a part of National Skills Week, there has never been a better time to consider taking
up a trade or training in a new skill. From online workshops to open days and career expos, try-a-trade, forums, talks, exhibitions and more,
there is something for everyone no matter what your age or skill.
