Mitsubishi Triton gets two new special editions

Mitsubishi has given the Triton line-up a solid shot of job-site practicality, rolling out two new Special Edition models that bundle the accessories tradies actually want — without the mucking around.

Built off the already popular GLX-R and GSR variants, the new Triton GLX-R Special Edition with Tradie Accessory Pack and the Triton GSR Special Edition with Touring Accessory Pack are about making life easier, whether the day starts on site or heads bush once knock-off rolls around.

MMAL General Manager of Product Strategy, Bruce Hampel, said the Triton Genuine Accessories range continues to cater to customers’ needs.

“We’re proud to offer our adventurous customers two Special Edition models that have been fitted with accessories packages selected from our Genuine Accessories range,” he said.

“Alongside our market-leading 10/10/10 Diamond Advantage, Capped Price Servicing and Roadside Assistance Program, these packs offer fantastic value for customers.”

The move comes after Mitsubishi Motors Australia listened closely to Triton owners, many of whom were already ticking the same options boxes at the dealership.

Instead of adding them one by one, Mitsubishi has wrapped the most popular gear into two value-packed factory solutions. For tradies, the standout is the GLX-R Special Edition with Tradie Accessory Pack. It’s a ready-to-work setup designed with fleets and worksites in mind.

Practical additions like side steps, a bed liner and rubber floor mats mean it’s prepared for daily punishment straight off the showroom floor.

The sports bar has been deleted to make fitting a tonneau cover or canopy easier — a small detail that makes a big difference for anyone hauling tools every day.

There’s also weather shields, a matte black bonnet protector and a tow bar with accessory kit, covering everything from early starts in the rain to towing a trailer after hours.

Topping it off is the White Diamond premium paint, available exclusively on this Special Edition, giving the workhorse a sharp finish without screaming “show pony”.

Those wanting a more premium base with weekend-ready gear will look to the GSR Special Edition with Touring Accessory Pack. It keeps the Triton’s tougher styling intact while adding touring essentials like a black nudge bar, bonnet protector, rubber tub mat and tow bar kit.

It’s aimed at tradies who want a ute that can handle the weekday grind and still load up for a road trip when Friday rolls around.

Mitsubishi says the growing Genuine Accessories range is all about keeping up with how customers actually use their vehicles.

Both Special Edition Tritons are due to hit Australian showrooms in February, with pricing set at $58,490 for the GLX-R Special Edition with Tradie Accessory Pack and $66,140 for the GSR Special Edition with Touring Accessory Pack (RRP). For tradies chasing a ute that’s already kitted for work or adventure, Mitsubishi has done the hard yards upfront.
