It’s a topic many men are afraid of discussing, but this year Movember hopes to grab testicular cancer by the nuts.
April is Testicular Cancer Awareness Month, and the men’s health charity has launched its ‘Know Thy Nuts’ campaign.

“Testicular Cancer Awareness Month is about taking control of your health,” Movember Institute of Men’s Health Global Director Professor Simon Rice said.
“The simplest action that young men can take is to get to know their nuts.
“That way, if they notice any changes over time, they can get it checked by a doctor. When caught early, testicular cancer is highly treatable.”
Down there
A 2024 Movember survey found a massive 74 per cent of young men do not know their age group is at risk. A further 21 per cent didn’t feel confident checking their testicles or didn’t know how.
Of the men surveyed, 27 per cent said they wouldn’t visit a doctor “until it got serious”.
Movember reported 75,000 cases of testicular cancer cases are reported worldwide each year since 2020. The charity has raised about $400 million since 2008 in biomedical research aimed at testicular and prostate cancers.
