It’s Tradies National Health Month!

Tradies National Health Month

August is Tradies National Health Month, which means your aches and pains are front and centre.

The initiative was first introduced by the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) in 2012, and is aimed at raising physical health awareness across the trades.

Tradies working in the construction industry experienced the third highest number of claims related to injuries according to Worksafe VIC.
Australian Bureau of Statistics numbers also show that tradies overall are disproportionately affected by workplace injuries and chronic conditions.

Across August there tradies can expect plenty of resources popping up reminding them to prioritise their physical health.
Worksafe VIC already has a tonne of free tools for you or your tradie mates to check out.

These include:

  • WorkWell Toolkit
  • OHS Essentials Program
  • Safety Soapbox newsletter
  • Manual handling guidance

Tradie health mightn’t be the most exciting part of the job, but keeping in shape is the key to getting the most enjoyment out of the job.
