Fergus has announced a new CEO has been appointed to the trade job management software company.
Mark Bartels was named the new head honcho effective August 5. Based in Sydney, Mark brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in scaling software and payment companies, particularly those serving small businesses. His leadership is expected to usher in a new era of growth and innovation for Fergus.
“I am excited to lead Fergus when the demand for quality and reliable tradies, such as those in plumbing and electrical, is skyrocketing globally,” Mark said.
“The company has a growing and loyal customer base, and I see tremendous potential for growth and innovation in this software vertical.
“Fergus will focus on expanding in existing markets that are still massively underserved. I look forward to working with the talented team at Fergus to drive the company’s success and help our customers grow efficiently and manage their businesses.”
New era
Mark’s appointment represents a significant milestone for Fergus. With extensive experience in high-growth software companies across the US and Australia, he is well-positioned to drive the next phase of growth in both the company’s customer base and revenue.
Mark previously served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Ignition, a client engagement and commerce platform. Before that, he was the first CFO at Invoice2go, which was acquired by Bill.com in 2021.
“Mark Bartels is the perfect fit for Fergus, given his impressive background in scaling software companies and his deep understanding of the needs of small businesses,” Fergus Founder Dan Pollard said.
“His strategic vision and hands-on leadership style make him uniquely qualified to lead Fergus through its next growth phase, enhancing its offerings and expanding its market presence. I am confident that Mark’s expertise will be instrumental in achieving Fergus’s ambitious goals and delivering exceptional value to customers.”
Fergus has established itself as a trusted provider of job management software, supporting plumbers, electricians, and other tradies in streamlining their operations and growing their businesses.
