Tradies looking to stretch their materials budget can take advantage of a new Cement Australia promotion, with customers able to buy six bags of Builders Cement and pay for just five through participating Mitre 10 and Home Timber & Hardware stores.
The promotion also includes a free cap for customers using the Mitre 10 Trade App when purchasing Builders Cement.
Designed for bricklayers and masonry work
Cement Australia’s Builders Cement is formulated to deliver improved workability compared with traditional GP Cement, offering a creamier mix, longer pot life and easier feathering of mortar onto bricks.
The extended working time can be particularly beneficial during warmer weather, giving bricklayers more time to work with mortar before it begins to stiffen and reducing the need to continually add water to maintain consistency.
This longer pot life can help improve productivity on site by allowing each batch of mortar to remain workable for longer.

Built for durability
The blended cement formulation includes fly ash, which helps improve resistance to sulfate attack and chloride penetration.
These characteristics can be particularly important for residential construction projects in coastal areas and other environments exposed to salt, where long-term durability is a key consideration.

While Builders Cement develops strength more gradually at early ages than GP Cement, it still delivers strong 28-day performance and improved later-age strength.
Meeting Australian standards
Builders Cement complies with AS3972 requirements for Type GB General Blend Cement and also meets Type SL (Shrinkage Limited) and Type SR (Sulfate Resisting) classifications.
According to Cement Australia, mortar produced using blended cements can deliver improved durability, increased later-age strength and enhanced long-term performance.
The promotion is available for a limited time through participating Mitre 10 and Home Timber & Hardware stores.
