2025: A landmark year for Carpentry Australia

We at Carpentry Australia are taking a moment to reflect on a massive 2024 for the carpentry industry and our community of hardworking tradies.

Over the past 12 weeks alone, we’ve rolled out key initiatives, hosted impactful events, and laid the groundwork for groundbreaking programs set to redefine support and opportunities for Carpenters in 2025.

Engaging our community In true Carpentry Australia spirit, we’ve spent the final quarter of the year focused on engagement. From connecting with members on-site and on the phone to hosting events and educational sessions, we’ve been more committed than ever to staying connected with those who “keep the hammer swinging.”  Our member services team, led by the ever-energetic Courtney in Queensland, has gone above and beyond to check in, offer support, and celebrate wins within our community.

A real highlight was our End-of-Year Celebration Event in Queensland, which brought together tradies and families for a well-earned day of connection, laughs, and reflection. Queensland members know how to celebrate hard work and success, and the energy at the event was electric!  We shared stories, recognised stand-out members, and were joined by sporting heroes Alex Rance and Will Davison.  Where we enjoyed the camaraderie that makes the Carpentry Australia network so strong.

Carpentry Australia recognises the challenges that come with managing finances in an unpredictable industry, we were proud to deliver our Finance Health Check Webinar.  This session provided practical advice and actionable tools for our members to take control of their finances and set themselves up for long-term success. As we’ve seen time and again, financial health is just as important as physical health in ensuring carpenters thrive both on and off the tools.

Game-changing plans for 2025

While we celebrate the achievements of 2024, we’re also looking forward to the future with big plans for the year ahead. Carpentry Australia is leading the way with several groundbreaking initiatives that we can’t wait to share with you in early 2025.

These include major expansions to our of our team into more states across Australia, new pathways for professional development, and additional support for apprentices and seasoned chippies alike. We’ll also be building on the success of our CarpentHER Program, empowering even more women to step into the industry, grow their skills, and contribute to a stronger, more inclusive workforce.

On the tech front, we’re excited about the upcoming launch of our Member Portal, a game-changer for connecting carpenters with opportunities and the resources they need to succeed. From showcasing skills to securing work, this platform is set to transform how carpenters engage with both the public and their fellow tradespeople.

We owe a BIG thank you to our members, none of this would be possible without our incredible community of members, partners, and supporters. At Carpentry Australia, everything we do is driven by our vision to “Build a Better Australia”.  Whether it’s advocating for fairer conditions, delivering critical resources, or celebrating the hard work and achievements of our members, our mission remains clear: to Keep the Hammer Swinging for Longer.

Thank you for being part of the journey in 2024. Stay tuned, because in the next edition of Tradie Magazine, we’ll reveal more about the exciting plans we’ve got in store for 2025. It’s shaping up to be a groundbreaking year, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

Here’s to a safe, successful, and prosperous 2025 for all carpenters around the country.
