Cement Australia continues to up the ante when it comes to developing innovative cement formulas … its PROStrength range is an indication of what tradies love about the brand.
For this test, we put both Cement Australia’s PROStrength Rapid Set Concrete and PROStrength Extra Strength Concrete Mix through their paces.
Concreter Scott McDonald from Inspire Concrete was stoked to be testing two of Cement Australia’s premium PROStrength products.
‘PROStrength’ isn’t just a fancy new name – both the Rapid Set and Extra Strength have added benefits on just about every aspect that make them a true upgrade from their predecessors.
Test #1: Rapid indeed
Scott was working on a site at Mount Eliza, south-east of Melbourne and needed the PROStrength Rapid Set for securing load bearing posts on a balcony.
As the name suggests – the PROStrength Rapid Set Concrete hardens in about 30 minutes and becomes fully load bearing in 24 hours.

It’s perfect for tradies working on projects that can be done quicker with fast-setting cement, but also require a strong concrete for supporting load-bearing structures.
Setting at 40MPa (after 28 days) means this PROStrength Rapid Set Concrete is twice as strong as its regular rapid set counterpart.
“Mate this is awesome,” Scott said.
“It was easy to mix and work with – it didn’t start setting too fast as well, it was the perfect amount of time to pour directly, mix and work it to get the shape right.”
Test #2: Totally extra
Scott needed to top up some footings for brickies to be able to lay down wall blocks.
For this, he was able to rely on the PROStrengh Extra Strength Concrete to get the job done.
Double the strength of standard concrete mix – PROStrength Extra Strength sets at a ripper 50MPa.
This makes it perfect for slabs, repairs, paths footings as well as fencing and gates among a bevy of other heavy-duty applications.
“This was super easy to mix – you can tell they use really great sand and aggregate with this,” Scott said.
“It was easy to work with, really creamy – it’s such a high quality cement.”
As well as being incredibly strong, PROStrength Extra Strength is more durable and resistant to wear than standard concrete, which gives tradies like Scott peace of mind they don’t need to think about topping up for a long time.
FOR THE PROSTRENGTH
PROStrength by name, PROStrength by nature. Cement Australia gives tradies plenty of reasons to opt for these premium concrete mixes.
Both the PROStrength Rapid Set and PROStrength Extra Strength deliver superior workability for the tradies using them, while delivering stronger final product for their customers.
“I want my work to be of a high-quality standard,” Scott said.
“These mixes get me exactly that.”
